They grind the faces of the poor
I would love to be able to afford healthcare without government assistance; because government subsidizes it, there are monopolies built to suck up government money while giving us a bare minimum of care. I would love to be able to do work I'm qualified for and earn enough money to pay all my expenses without any government assistance of any kind. That is not only very difficult, but not even expected; the assumption is that you apply for all the assistance you qualify for, because it's assumed you will need government help forever. The government controls what it pays for: it limits what doctors, hospitals, specialists, and clinics I can go to. Government limits what food I can buy with their funds. Government limits where people can live, both through controlling housing assistance, and through regulations, zoning, tax policies and write-offs. Government continually makes it harder to survive on a low income, and then cuts benefits to people who don't have money to pay off politicians. They grind the faces of the poor, and join house to house so that the poor have nowhere to live, just as the Israelites did in the Old Testament, right before their government was overthrown. This feels very familiar.
