Hold onto integrity
The only really effective fix for United States government is to become more moral, honest, upstanding people ourselves. "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."--John Adams
A people who refuse obedience to laws, who refuse to be restrained by expectations, walls, fences, boundaries, will only be restrained by the laws of God, the laws God set in motion when He started the earth spinning: gravity, fire, water, wild animals, climate, drought, floodplains, volcanoes, dust storms, locusts. We can try to restrain each other. We will be effective only as those who measure the cost and decide to be restrained; the current geriatric-in-chief has shown that he will not listen to naysayers and will do what he wants anyway, loudly, with complaints and self-praise. Sooner or later he will faceplant. At the moment he has supporters who cushion and protect him, and who follow his example of refusing restraints (Ice...). In some ways his rise was made possible by many other slimy deals, corrupt and unfeeling actions by people who chose to get their own at any cost; a lot of his supporters are rightfully complaining of ill treatment they received. But increasing corruption and cutting backroom deals is not justified, no matter how corrupt the past was. You don't fix a problem by becoming the same or worse problem. The only real helps now are being honest, humble, firm in choosing integrity, and forgiving.
